Houston to Host 2023 Juneteenth Black Wall Street Festival in Downtown Houston
Houston, TX - The city of Houston is set to host the 2023 Juneteenth Black Wall Street Festival on June 17, 2023, from 12:00 - 4:00 pm at the Big Brother Big Sister Building located at 1003 Washington Avenue in Downtown Houston. This free community event is a celebration of Black excellence, entrepreneurship, and community resilience.
"The Juneteenth Black Wall Street Festival is a chance to honor the legacy of Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and showcase the incredible Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in our community," said the festival's organizer. "We're excited to bring this event to Downtown Houston and celebrate the power and resilience of the Black community."
The festival will feature a range of activities, including live music, dance performances, food trucks, a marketplace for Black-owned businesses, and educational resources on Black history and entrepreneurship. Attendees can expect to learn about the history of Black Wall Street and the impact of Black entrepreneurs on the community.
"We're thrilled to be hosting this festival in Downtown Houston and bringing together the community to celebrate Black excellence and entrepreneurship," said the organizer. "This event is a chance to celebrate the strength and resilience of the Black community and honor the legacy of our ancestors."
The 2023 Juneteenth Black Wall Street Festival is a free community event, and all are welcome to attend. Organizers encourage attendees to support Black-owned businesses in the marketplace and learn more about the history and contributions of Black entrepreneurs in Houston and beyond.
